A Plea to Bring Back Moyer

As the days go by, the time til the start of spring training gets smaller. Some action can be expected tomorrow. My take: Offer Moyer arbitration. We need Moyer more than a Burnett or Lowe. Can you imagine Moyer in a different jersey next season after he helped the Phils win the Big One? Who else are we gonna count on to stymie Marlins hitters? As was proven during the Gillick era, we don't need splashy free agents. We need the right pieces. Jamie is that piece. If Moyer left, our favorite Canadian (don't have too many of those) Matt Stairs would take over as oldest guy in the clubhouse. Despite that huge L.A. homer, Stairs doesn't carry the excitement of an old guy and does not stir up many emotions in old guys. Old people need to be represented in a huge way. Jamie can do just that.

No arbitration for Moyer, so he's a free agent now. Maybe he'd want to come back for a pay cut to try and win another one here?
